Ray Mercer seemed like the most likely contender. He had just made an enormous impact on the boxing world with a spectacular knockout win against Tommy Morrison. Mercer also showed an incredible chin in that fight as he took shots that would have destroyed most heavyweights. All Mercer had to do to get the title match with the World Champion Holyfield was to beat "old man" Larry Holmes.Unfortunately for Mercer Holmes was extremely prepared and excited about this fight. He exposed Mercer's weaknesses namely his inability to deal with boxers. Holmes surprisingly dominated winning a decision by a wide margin and securing a title shot against "the real deal" Evander Holyfield.The Holmes come back fight can be celebrated with this original poster from the fight.It has recently been re-framed in a tasteful black wood surround and measures in at a large and impressive 114cm by 81cm.It originates from a large private collection of boxing posters and is presented in good condition. A super item of one-off boxing memorabilia.
